The install pay change — explore it

In March, install pay moved off the old piece-rate sheet onto a percentage of what each job actually earns. This page is the full data behind that change — every stat below is clickable, and the Register tab has all 229 installs.

Why I changed it

The piece-rate sheet was tedious to keep current and didn't move with what a job actually earned. I wanted pay to track the job, not a flat lookup table.

The rule I set for myself

I checked all of last year's jobs against the new plan before switching. The new plan had to pay MORE for the same work overall — individual jobs land higher or lower depending on what the job sold for, but the year as a whole comes out a raise, not a cut.

Pay figures run through May 15, 2026. Install counts run through Jul 24, 2026. The plan switch is visible starting 2026 week 12 (mid-March).

Clock-in coverage by month

This is the accuracy ask: when both of you hit OMW → Start → Pause → Finish, this whole tab gets sharper. Right now roughly 1 in 3 installs is missing one man's clock.

Your clock is how I check this is fair.

The straight deal: keep the clock honest and it's what proves it if a job ever runs long for the money.

Volume & Business

2025 2026 June

June 2025 = 24 installs, June 2026 = 8 — the whole year-over-year gap is one slow month; July is already running ahead.

Labor as a % of the job

A predictable slice of revenue either way — the new plan runs slightly leaner as a %, not richer.

Equal-volume projector

Median job size: $7,547 (2025) → $8,700 (2026).

Won Lost Open Discounted

Lost-reason breakdown (Kyle vs Charles, overlap period)

Charles's losses are mostly competitor/ghosting, not price — his gap is follow-up, and it's coachable. Pricing is only about 10% of his losses.
